I cut my hair off for charity!Β

Thought I would give you all a quick update on my hair!

Basically if you have been following me for a while you will know that I dyed my hair black to blonde. Then purple and eventually grey.

I tried everything to keep my hair grey but even the hairdressers couldn’t get it to last longer than a week.

My hair was left in really bad condition, and along with my hair falling out due to stress my dermatitis on my scalp was pretty bad.

So I decided to dye it back to black. Although this slightly helped with the condition. I felt my hair still looked and felt dreadful.

As most of you know my little boy is autistic. So I decided to cut my hair off and raise money for the National Autistic Society. They have been such a great source of information since the diagnoses process started and I wanted to be able to give something back.

So I went from this :

To this :

The hairdresser did get a bit scissor happy. And it was slightly shorter than I wanted which makes it difficult to style the original way I wanted too. However I really love it, I actually prefer wearing it in the pixie style.

Now when my hair grows back eventually it will be in great condition!

I managed to raise over Β£450 thanks to my very generous and wonderful friends.

So just another shoutout to those of you who did donate. Thankyou so much for making this transition so much easier by donating what you could. It is massively appreciated and I love you all.

Thanks for reading!

Selfie Saturday : My makeupΒ

Morning lovelies!

I thought I would give you a quick run through of what makeup I’m wearing today. After purchasing a few bits this week, I’ve been gradually adding them and changing things amongst my normal routine.

I also dyed my hair this week! I’m a little bit sad, it didn’t take long to get blonde but it has damaged my hair quite badly. I only wanted to go blonde so that I could go a gun mental grey. Who knew going grey was such hard work? Even the hairdressers tried but the toner was washing out within a week. Too much money and still didn’t get the outcome that I wanted. So I’ve gone a nice brown instead! This is what I used :

So, my makeup today consists of the following:

Maybelline Baby skin – Instant fatigue Blur

I’m not sure if I like this yet, I’ve been using the green tube (instant pour eraser) for a few months now and it’s a totally different texture. However my makeup does go on well over it, so I’m going to persevere. I apply this to my full face as a primer.

EstΓ©e Lauder – Double wear – Fresco

I bit the bullet and purchased it this week. So many people have said such great things about the coverage that I just couldn’t contain myself any longer. I’m a big advocate in drugstore makeup. I’ve been using Maybelline better skin for a while now and I love that. But the coverage I’ve got from double wear is really quite amazing. The price makes my eyes water though. But from what I’ve used so far, I’m happy to pay it!

Maxfactor – Pan stik – Noveau Beige

I use this as a concealer not foundation. So I apply it anywhere I need it. Usually under my eyes and then blemishes.

Makeup Revolution contour pallets – light, medium/dark

I absolutely love these. They are only Β£6 per pallet in superdrug. I use the 2 lightest shades for highlighting (see previous review post to see how I highlight and contour my face) and then the 3 darkest shades for contour.

Soap and Glory – Solar Powder

I’m touching pan with this now so need to replace it. I don’t use it as a bronzer really, more like my all over face powder before I apply any contour powder!

MAC – Limited edition Disney’s Malificent – Sculpting Powder

Can’t even explain how excited I am to own this product. They are selling for quite a lot on Ebay with them being no longer available. However, I won this in a bidding for Β£5.50 😱 that was the starting bid so no one else must have searched for it!

It came in the post yesterday, I’ve been using it to sculpt my cheekbones and basically anywhere where I contour. LOVE it.

Barry M – Make me blush cream

Also bought this week (keep an eye out for my weekly purchases blog later)

I’ve asked Sean for the Makeup revolution cream blush pallets for Xmas. So in the meantime wanted to try a few others. I love this one, goes on super easy and it’s a really pretty pink colour. Blends easy with my brushes too.

Collection work the colour – eyebrow kit

I use the black mostly, but this is still by far the best eyebrow kit I’ve used. And it’s a steal at 2.99!

Maybelline – The Rocket Mascara

Still my absolute favourite although I have bought a different one to try this week. But I’m pretty sure this will be my staple mascara forever!

Pop Beauty – Sooty black eyeliner

No point in taking a photo as its nearly finished which shows how much I’ve loved this product. It was in my first glossy box. And I absolutely adore it.

Kate Moss Rimmel – Nude collection shade 40

Everything I could ever want from a nude lipstick!

The finished look

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you wear any of these products and what you think!

5 DIY Hair MasksΒ

My hair at the minute is just.. *sigh*

It’s so dry from all the bleaching, I’m kind of glad I’ve done my roots dark because there’s no way my hair could have taken anymore bleaching! It was already starting to snap in places πŸ˜₯

Anyway! These are tried and tested hair masks I’ve used previously, so this week I intend to do some of them to try and bring some kind of condition back into my hair!

 1 Ripe Avocado

1 tsp Honey

2 tsp Coconut milk

Half a mashed banana

2 tsp Honey

2 tbsp Natural yoghurt

2 tbsp oil

1 tsp honey

1 Egg white

1 tsp Honey

1 Egg White

1 tsp Apple cider vinegar

Coconut oil

Like with any store bought hair mask, make sure your hair is fully saturated. I like to wrap mine with cling film and leave it on for 30 minutes. Sometimes longer. I then use a conditioning shampoo and conditioner (currently using Fudge make a mends).

Hope this has been helpful! I will be doing a separate blog this week for homemade face masks as well as a review for the fudge shampoos listed above.

15 ways to use Vaseline πŸ’•πŸ’•

I always have a pot of Vaseline in my drawer, have done since my early teens and over the years I’ve discovered some weird and wonderful things you can use it for! So here’s a quick list:

1. Customise your cosmetics

Add Vaseline to any lose pigments from your eyes shadows, blush etc and mix them together to create a cream shadows and blush. You can also do this to make tinted lip balms.

2. Use it as a clear Mascara

On makeup free days or natural makeup days you can trade in your mascara for Vaseline by smoothing it over your lashes for a glossy and thicker look. It’s also a great eye lash conditioner!

3. Polish your shoes!

Bit of a weird one but my grandma once told me to use it for polishing my tan boots. This was quite recently and it gives them a great shine!

4. Get the perfect tan

Apply it to dry areas like elbows and knees before tanning as it acts as a barrier so that the tan won’t cling/go streaky in those places.

5. Gentle eye makeup remover

We all know how expensive makeup remover can be, but you can use Vaseline on the tip of a cotton bud to gently remove eye liner, mascara and I’ve even found when I used to use false lashes that it would help with removing the excess glue.

6. Soothe dry skin

Apply Vaseline to dry skin or cracked heels on your feet and then pop a pair of socks on. You can also do the same for hands and wear some gloves overnight. Really helps hydrate your skin.

7. Mess free manicure

Apply to your cuticles before painting your nails to keep the colour off your skin.

8. Remove makeup stains from clothing

With a damp cloth, Vaseline can be used to help lift makeup stains from your clothing, pillow cases and bedding.

9. Instant Highlighter

Just use a small amount on the high points of your face for a natural dewy highlight. You can also use it on your shins to make your legs glow.

10. Smooth that baby hair!

You can smooth down your baby hairs or frizz by using small amounts of Vaseline in replace of hair product.

11. Prep skin for fragrance

Moisturised skin holds fragrance for longer, apply Vaseline before you spray.

12. DIY lip scrub

Add some sugar to your Vaseline to make your own DIY lip scrub.

13. DIY shower/bath sea salt scrub

Add Sea salt to your Vaseline to make your own DIY body scrub with moisturising benefits.

14. Take those brows

Add a very small amount of Vaseline to your eyebrow brush to help shape your brows perfectly.

15. Help stubborn earrings slide in

If you’re like me and don’t wear earrings too often, the holes can sometimes be difficult when trying to put earrings in. Add a small amount of Vaseline to your ear lobe and over the earring to help it slide in with no problems.

Let me know down below if you have any Vaseline tips!

Undercut πŸ’•πŸ’•

I haven’t really told the story about my hair colour yet but I shall leave that for another blog because it’s a long one!

Anyway I’m currently in the stage where I’ve become bored of the style and because of all the bleaching it does need a really good cut. so last night I took to Pinterest in search of short hair cuts and also undercuts.

Although I really love short hair I just don’t have the balls to do it. Id be absolutely horrified if I cut all my hair off and then hated it. So decided that the undercut was the best way to go.

I had an undercut about a year and a half ago, but was only one side of my head that I shaved, it’s pretty much grown back to the same length now. This time I wanted to have something all the way round.

These pictures were my inspiration:

So this morning I sat for around an hour, trying to get the most perfect line possible. Got the clippers out and shaved it off. First I used a number 4 (shown in first pic) and although it looked fine from the side, I felt it was too long at the back. So then I used a number 3 which I personally think looks perfect.

It’s subtle enough that you can’t really see t when I wear my hair down (which is good because my grandma would have a fit) but drastic enough to make my hair look more edgy and stylish when tied up!

It’s super easy to do yourself as long as you have someone to help you with the back.

Thanks again for reading lovelies, keep an eye out for another blog about Grey hair and why I’m finding it so impossible!
