Questions from M

What is your ideal job?

I always wanted to be an interior designer or a writer.

Sadly the calling for interior design in my area is minimum, and I don’t want to move! So I make do with creating boards on Pinterest of my dream houses 😍

With writing I seem to be doing well blogging, but I have tried to write books in the past only to get lost halfway through.

I love poetry too, and still write poems daily.

If you could change any one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I wish I could turn off the feeling of caring what other people think. Having an autistic child comes with its own battles, more than half of the time the battles are caused by uneducated morons who think it’s ok to judge someone when they know nothing about them.

What is your best asset, in your opinion or someone else’s.

I’m honest, really really honest. Most people like the fact that I am. Some people not so much.

Are you a night owl or early riser?

Most definitely a night owl, I was not made for early mornings. Thank god I have a husband that gets up with the children every morning!

What is one of the things you regret doing?

I don’t have regrets, mistakes lead for an interesting life.

On a Friday night you usually find yourself…

Snuggled on the couch with Sean , with a takeaway and a good movie or box set.

Best thing about school and worst thing about school for you

I hated school. Bar the few friends I had, the majority were arseholes 😊

I enjoyed Graphic design because the teacher was awesome. (Mr Armstrong)

Your favourite meme?

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

90’s music, yay or nay?

Yaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy

What was your favourite cartoon growing up?

I have too many to pic one. But the one that still makes me laugh even now is Ed, Edd and Eddy. That was from my later years obviously. Early years was things like Moomins, poddington peas, button moon, trap door, fragile rock, gummy bears etc

What would your ideal home/house be like?

I’ve asked this myself a many of times, there’s a girl I follow on Instagram that has a cottage and it’s absolutely perfect. She has the most beautiful taste.

If I had the money my home would be filled to the brim of Laura Ashley 😍😍😍

Questions that Ruby asked me:

1. Favourite Makeup Product

I know I go on about it, but it’s my main staple. The Max Factor Pan stik is my absolute favourite product EVER. I use it as a concealer under my eyes, red bits and forehead. But it can also be used as a cream foundation which is its main purpose for my people.

2. What can’t you live without

I assume this means beauty related, so I’m going to say Micellar Cleansing water. My face has been so clear since I started using it.

3. Favourite colour

Anything Natural

4. Natural coloured lips, or big bold lips

I love Nude lipsticks, I rarely wear anything else, but still like my lips to look plump. So I do wear lip liner also. Sometimes when I’m going out I wear red or dark purple but it’s rare.

5. Have you tried strobing?

Hell no! I’ve only just got the hang of contouring! Although I more than likely will watch a couple of tutorials and blog about it at some point.

6. How do you reduce bags under your eyes?

I don’t.. I simply don’t have time. And I do have awful bags! I just conceal them 😱 If you have any tips pop them in the comments!

7. What piercings do you have/want?

Currently I have my Ears, nose and tongue done. I don’t want anymore. Although I do miss my belly button. But I have a stretch mark right through that so it’s ruined! No one gets to see it anyway.

8. What’s your perfect makeup look?

I love natural looking makeup with white prominent lips. Kylie Jenners makeup is generally perfect πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

9. Mascara or eyeliner (pick one)

Mascara most Deffo. Changes the whole look of your face!

10. Do you paint your nails

Rarely. If I’m going out then yes. But that’s hardly ever!

My 10 questions

1. Favourite lipstick brand and colour

2. Name a beauty product that you hate

3. Favourite perfume

4. How many items of makeup are in your daily routine?

5. What’s your skin care routine

6. Do you contour? What products do you use?

7. Favourite makeup brand?

8. Drugstore or High end makeup?

9. Top makeup tip?

10. Name something you have bought recently because another blogger has recommended it.

Mini Boots Haul πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

Still on the hunt for the Kate Moss Nude collection lipsticks! But on the way picked up a few bits from boots today.

I did manage to actually get another 2 of the shades that I needed. I got shades 45 and 48. Also picked up one from her other range in shade 03.

Will swatch these within the next few days! I think I only have one shade left to find now!

I’ve been wanting to try a BB balm or cream for a while now, and whilst I was looking at the seventeen collection for yet another different contour kit to try I came across this balm.

My skin is terrible at the minute, so the fact that it said it will improve my skin within 4 weeks made me want to try it!

My friend uses the contour kit, and looks fabulous so I wanted to give that a go myself and see what it’s like.

I haven’t wore powder for a very long time. I’ve been using Soap and Glorys Solar powder as an all over face powder for a while as its light enough to give the effect I wanted.

However I’m one for trying new things all the time. So I grabbed this one as I’ve seen a fair few blogs recommending it.

Yay!! I’m so excited that I eventually found this product. I loved their Morrocon oil shampoo and conditioner and their coconut milk. But I seen Zoella blog about this a while ago and I’ve only just managed to pick it up in boots today!

These are going in my toiletries section of my Xmas list though. So you will have to wait a while for my review πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

You will see in the top picture that I grabbed some insence, that was from a little stall as I ran out of nag champa at the weekend, and this was all they had. But they smell beautiful. And for Β£1 per pack you can’t really go wrong!

So, still on the hunt for the last shade of the nude collection. Looks like it might have to be an online purchase. But I’m super happy that I managed to get the rest today.

Thanks so much for reading. If you have tried any of these products, let me know what you think of them in the comments!

July Favourites πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

I feel like this month has been SO long. More than likely because the summer holidays have started and we haven’t been able to get out much!

Kids have been attached to my hip almost constantly, hence the lack of blogging. I hadn’t anticipated that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with my one blog a day routine. So currently in just trying to get one up as often as I can!

So! This months favourites.

Primark Candles

After seeing a few of my favourite bloggers mention them on some of their posts, I grabbed a couple to try when I was there a few weeks ago.

I bought 3 in total. Two of the 3 wick ones and a single wick.

They smell amazing! And I love the presentation of the 3 wicks that are in tins.

The tins were Β£3.50 and the single candle was Β£2. Well worth the money in my opinion! Not only are they are bargain, but they look nice and smell great.

Scentsy Warmer

After being sent a warmer to trial for a blog post. I loved it so much that I bought my own! For those of you that haven’t read my scentsy blog, these are basically an electric wax burner. So no need for tea lights! You just plug them in. And pop a wax melt on top.

The smell is amazing! And there’s a huge range of scents and warmers to choose from. Check out my blog for details on where to purchase.

I chose the Bali, for obvious reasons and I adore it.

Mandala Wall Hanging

Purchased from India only last week and it’s arrived already! Urban outfitters are charging around Β£40 each for something similar. And as you will have seen from my recent post, we will soon be decorating our bedroom. So we have started to buy bits and pieces.

This was Β£13.99 on eBay, with free postage. I was expecting it to take ages with it being from India but arrived in just under a week. It’s absolutely enormous!

I have ordered a few others, and have some more in my watch list as I’m not sure how many I will need as I’m recovering my blanket box and the seat of my chair. All in different colours of course.

Excuse the picture, I obviously won’t be hanging them till we have decorated, so I’ve put it on my bed to show you.

EstΓ©e Lauder Double wear foundation
Not really sure why I put off purchasing this for so long, mainly the price tag because I usually spend no more than Β£10 on a foundation.

Everyone knows my love for drugstore makeup brands but I just had to try it and WOW what a difference.

Although I personally find it too heavy for basic day to day, it holds up to everything that it promises and I have used it an awful lot.

It lasts all day, to the point I find myself scrubbing it off my face at the end of the day. My face never feels dry, the coverage is amazing. It’s an all round winner.

However I think this shade is too dark for me, fine for when I have fake tan on but not without, so will be trying a different shade next time!

Barry M – Make me blush cream

Just recently I was talking to a friend about the memory I had of being a little girl and watching my mum use her lipstick on her cheeks as rouge. And this product totally reminded me of that, so that’s why I bought it!

They have a few different shades, but I like bright pink on my cheeks. Goes on lovely and I just blend it in with a brush!

Lush – Gay is ok soap

Smells fruity, spicy and gives a bit a of twinkle. I absolutely LOVE it. But that’s nothing new, there doesn’t seem to be much that I don’t love from Lush.

Garnier – Micellar Cleansing water

I have super sensitive skin, so I don’t really have a skin care routine because most products really irritate my face.

However, I purchased this and i absolutely love it. It’s so gentle on my skin, leaves me feeling fresh but also takes my makeup off like a dream!

I use it every morning when I wake up and then use it before bed to take my makeup up.

Glossy box favourite – Teoxane cosmeceuticals – Perfect skin Refiner

I’ve noticed an incredible difference in my skin with this product, so much so that I dug my glossy box information card out to see how much the full sized product is.

😐 It’s Β£70…. There has to be something similar out there for cheaper?! Does anyone know of a different brand? If not, I really think it’s something I might have to save up for because it’s honestly amazing.

I apply it after I’ve taken all my makeup off and cleansed my skin. It stings a little when I’m applying it but I’ve been told that’s supposed to happen.

My skin already feels more taught and smoother than it has been in a long time!

So that’s Julys favourites! What’s been your favourite products this month? Comment below or link me to your blog so I can read about them!

Thanks so much for reading.

Kate Moss Long lasting Lipstick swatches (Rimmel)Β

I have still only managed to grab 2 of the 5 from the new Kate Moss Nude range, but I absolutely LOVE them and I can’t wait to get the other shades.

They smell divine, they are long lasting, moisturising and make your lips look lovely and plump.

I also managed to grab one from the other range. Which I love equally as much, even though I don’t wear much pink, I’ve found that I’ve been wearing this one quite a lot!

Shade 40 (Nude)

Shade 43 (Nude)

Shade 101 (Light pink)

Top : Shade 40

Middle : Shade 43

Bottom : Shade 101

As I’ve said above, I’m super happy with these. They are by far my favourite lipsticks at the moment, hopefully will be able to get a few more over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks so much for reading!

Bedroom inspiration πŸ’•πŸ’•

Amongst Christmas shopping, getting people birthday presents and attending weddings. I’m hopeful that we will still be able to perhaps start buying bits for when we make a move on decorating our bedroom.

The kids rooms were done not so long ago, as they were main priority (although Penelope has ripped her paper off the wall, luckily we have a spare roll so it needs fixing!)

The walls in the bedroom are woodchip wall paper (whoever invented this crap needs shot). We won’t be stripping the walls because to be quite frank, we can’t be bothered.

We are in rented property so we try to keep the changes we make minimal, so we are just going to paint instead and hope for the best!

I will have to re paint my furniture again so that it matches and we could really do with a new wardrobe but that will have to wait!

The theme we are going for is Hippy/Boho/Indian. Here are some Pinterest photos I’ve chosen for inspiration!

Mainly using the pictures for colour inspiration. I’ve already ordered some bedding, but have a list as long as my arm on eBay for drapes and mandala wall hangings.

Of course mine will never look anything like these but hopefully I will have the end result that I want before Xmas!

Thanks for reading! Hope you’re all well.

Quiet time = ImpossibleΒ

I’m super sorry I’ve been so quiet this past week, the kids have got me demented (damn you summer holidays).

I literally have zero time to myself, so I’m finding it difficult to be able to blog at the minute but I will try and do a few beauty reviews this week when I eventually get around to it. I have a few other items and companies that I want to talk about too, so hopefully at some point this week I may actually get some time to do it!

This house has been full of tantrums/meltdowns/fighting/crying and I’m EXHAUSTED.

It’s really difficult keeping both the kids entertained because they like different things. I don’t get out a lot due to Harri not really coping well outdoors (ASD and sensory issues) and I really struggle when I’m on my own.

I really feel the need for some time to meditate at the minute, but finding perfect silence is almost impossible when you have children! I’m going to grab my Zen colouring book and give that a go instead.

Thanks so much for reading. Hope you are all well!

First Impressions Friday : Maybelline Great LashΒ

So last week, I decided to buy a different Mascara. I’ve been using Maybellines The Rocket for a few months now and honestly I think I might add it as my staple mascara because I love it that much.

However, I’m always up for trying new things. What kind of blogger would I be if I didn’t right? Pretty boring!

So I ordered Maybelline Great Lash on my Very account to give it a try.

First impression

Meh, it’s not really anything to write home about. I think it’s a mascara that I would use on my more natural looking days. Or one that I would wear if I wasn’t wearing much makeup at all in fact.

It’s great for length, and separation I give it that. But it doesn’t add any volume at all and I really like volumising Mascara.

I’ve found myself doubling it To make it look how I wanted, meaning adding time onto my makeup routine, when really I want to take away time!!

Will I buy it again?

So all in all, looks ok I suppose, feels nice and light, seperates lashes well and makes them look longer.

No I won’t buy it again, as mentioned above I like volume and I really don’t feel like I get that from this at all!

I would however recommend it to anyone that likes a very natural look.

Thanks so much for reading! Let me know what you think of this product if you have tried it before.
