Quiet time = Impossible

I’m super sorry I’ve been so quiet this past week, the kids have got me demented (damn you summer holidays).

I literally have zero time to myself, so I’m finding it difficult to be able to blog at the minute but I will try and do a few beauty reviews this week when I eventually get around to it. I have a few other items and companies that I want to talk about too, so hopefully at some point this week I may actually get some time to do it!

This house has been full of tantrums/meltdowns/fighting/crying and I’m EXHAUSTED.

It’s really difficult keeping both the kids entertained because they like different things. I don’t get out a lot due to Harri not really coping well outdoors (ASD and sensory issues) and I really struggle when I’m on my own.

I really feel the need for some time to meditate at the minute, but finding perfect silence is almost impossible when you have children! I’m going to grab my Zen colouring book and give that a go instead.

Thanks so much for reading. Hope you are all well!

First Impressions Friday : Maybelline Great Lash

So last week, I decided to buy a different Mascara. I’ve been using Maybellines The Rocket for a few months now and honestly I think I might add it as my staple mascara because I love it that much.

However, I’m always up for trying new things. What kind of blogger would I be if I didn’t right? Pretty boring!

So I ordered Maybelline Great Lash on my Very account to give it a try.

First impression

Meh, it’s not really anything to write home about. I think it’s a mascara that I would use on my more natural looking days. Or one that I would wear if I wasn’t wearing much makeup at all in fact.

It’s great for length, and separation I give it that. But it doesn’t add any volume at all and I really like volumising Mascara.

I’ve found myself doubling it To make it look how I wanted, meaning adding time onto my makeup routine, when really I want to take away time!!

Will I buy it again?

So all in all, looks ok I suppose, feels nice and light, seperates lashes well and makes them look longer.

No I won’t buy it again, as mentioned above I like volume and I really don’t feel like I get that from this at all!

I would however recommend it to anyone that likes a very natural look.

Thanks so much for reading! Let me know what you think of this product if you have tried it before.

Toy review Tuesday!

Fisherprice Disney Little People

I absolutely adore this range and so do the kids.

We started collecting them last Christmas.

We started with the Disney castle, Ariel carriage and Cinderella carriage.

Then for Penelope’s birthday added in the Cinderella dance floor and the Tangled tower.

As with all Fisherprice toys, they are sturdy, thick plastic. Colourful and fun, pretty much indestructible which is a big thing to look for In this house! But because they are Disney related the kids seem to show a lot more interest.

And even though these were purchased for Penelope, Harri really enjoys them too. And it’s not often that he’s bothered with toys at all, unless they are sensory related, it’s also go them kind of playing together side by side. Which is a huge step for Harri.

What I find great about this range, is that there is so much too choose from. Meaning that I can purchase bits to add to her collection every birthday/Xmas etc.

We have already got her a few bits for Xmas, including the Aurora and the fairies package, Clip clop horse track and the Aladdin/jasmine magic carpet.

Yes obviously, some of the toys are quite large. So storage can sometimes be an issue. Penelope’s room is super tiny, but currently we are managing well. I can’t say I will be saying the same come Christmas time!

If you are struggling for ideas on Christmas presents, I absolutely recommend anything from this range. There is a massive amount to choose from (try Ebay for some of the rarer bits) and any small child that loves Disney will love these!

Thanks for reading lovelies!

My weekly purchases 💕💕

Safe to say that I’m well and truly spent up this month! Have went a little crazy this week. So that’s me done now till next month.

I thought I would do a little post to show you what I got!

Primark and Lush

Recently watched a Zoella video where she had purchased some of the 3 wick candles in a tin from Primark and she said they smelt amazing! So I went to have a peek and got a couple.

Little bit gutted they didn’t do the Peony and white tea in a bigger size as that smells gorgeous but still happy with pineapple and ginger, and also the red berry and jasmine.

The large 3 wicks were £3.50 each and the square one was £2.

Also picked up this cute little t shirt. I say little, this is a size 6 because they all seemed enormous and I wanted one to tuck into my high waisted black jeans. I’m usually a 12 in a top! It was £3 in the sale.

And of course I couldn’t walk past Lush without popping in. But I was trying to contain myself as they have already had quite a lot of money from me this month!

I got the marshmallow bath melt and the Big Blue. Both smell divine!

Very

Couple of makeup purchases from very that arrived this week. I’m still waiting on the NYX colour correction kit but that doesn’t seem to have arrived yet!

Kate Moss Rimmel  lasting finish in shade 101

This is a super light pink, it smells gorgeous and it’s a really pretty colour.

Barry M – Make me blush

I wanted to try some cream blushes as I’ve asked for some cream blush palettes for Xmas from Makeup revolution. So to tide me over till then I bought this and so far it’s great! Really pretty bright pink but once blended leaves a lovely glow.

Maybelline Baby Skin – Instant fatigue blur

I’ve been using the green tube (pour eraser) which I’ve absolutely loved but just finished it recently. So I wanted to try this one out. It’s a total different texture so I’m finding it to be a bit strange. But I’m willing to persevere with it!

Maybelline Great Lash

Haven’t used this yet, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. So thought I would check it out myself because I’m a huge fan of Maybelline products.

Loreal Perfect match concealer

I’ve been using this as a highlighter for under my eyes and it’s absolutely perfect. Great coverage and really helps brighten my face. Super easy to apply too.

MAC – Disney limited edition Malificent sculpting powder

I have to admit I bought this just because I love Malificent 😑 however it was a total steal at £5.50 as I won it on eBay! Yay! And furthermore I really love it. I’ve been using it as my contour powder and it’s great for my jaw line/cheekbones.

Estée Lauder – double wear – fresco

I’ve been putting this off for a while even though I really really wanted it. I’ve just never spent this much on a foundation before. As I’ve said in previous posts, I’m a huge lover of drugstore brands and I’ve really never spent more that £12 on a foundation.

But this was totally worth it. The coverage alone has convinced me that this purchase was the best idea I’ve had in a long time.

But it goes on lovely, doesn’t feel heavy or feel like I’m wearing 10 layers of makeup. I really have fallen in love with it.

So as you will see, I won’t be buying anything else for a while (I hope) as this lot and my superdrug haul was more than I’d wanted to spend this month!

But there are some great products here! Let me know if you have tried any of them and what you thought 💕💕💕

Thanks for reading.

Selfie Saturday : My makeup

Morning lovelies!

I thought I would give you a quick run through of what makeup I’m wearing today. After purchasing a few bits this week, I’ve been gradually adding them and changing things amongst my normal routine.

I also dyed my hair this week! I’m a little bit sad, it didn’t take long to get blonde but it has damaged my hair quite badly. I only wanted to go blonde so that I could go a gun mental grey. Who knew going grey was such hard work? Even the hairdressers tried but the toner was washing out within a week. Too much money and still didn’t get the outcome that I wanted. So I’ve gone a nice brown instead! This is what I used :

So, my makeup today consists of the following:

Maybelline Baby skin – Instant fatigue Blur

I’m not sure if I like this yet, I’ve been using the green tube (instant pour eraser) for a few months now and it’s a totally different texture. However my makeup does go on well over it, so I’m going to persevere. I apply this to my full face as a primer.

Estée Lauder – Double wear – Fresco

I bit the bullet and purchased it this week. So many people have said such great things about the coverage that I just couldn’t contain myself any longer. I’m a big advocate in drugstore makeup. I’ve been using Maybelline better skin for a while now and I love that. But the coverage I’ve got from double wear is really quite amazing. The price makes my eyes water though. But from what I’ve used so far, I’m happy to pay it!

Maxfactor – Pan stik – Noveau Beige

I use this as a concealer not foundation. So I apply it anywhere I need it. Usually under my eyes and then blemishes.

Makeup Revolution contour pallets – light, medium/dark

I absolutely love these. They are only £6 per pallet in superdrug. I use the 2 lightest shades for highlighting (see previous review post to see how I highlight and contour my face) and then the 3 darkest shades for contour.

Soap and Glory – Solar Powder

I’m touching pan with this now so need to replace it. I don’t use it as a bronzer really, more like my all over face powder before I apply any contour powder!

MAC – Limited edition Disney’s Malificent – Sculpting Powder

Can’t even explain how excited I am to own this product. They are selling for quite a lot on Ebay with them being no longer available. However, I won this in a bidding for £5.50 😱 that was the starting bid so no one else must have searched for it!

It came in the post yesterday, I’ve been using it to sculpt my cheekbones and basically anywhere where I contour. LOVE it.

Barry M – Make me blush cream

Also bought this week (keep an eye out for my weekly purchases blog later)

I’ve asked Sean for the Makeup revolution cream blush pallets for Xmas. So in the meantime wanted to try a few others. I love this one, goes on super easy and it’s a really pretty pink colour. Blends easy with my brushes too.

Collection work the colour – eyebrow kit

I use the black mostly, but this is still by far the best eyebrow kit I’ve used. And it’s a steal at 2.99!

Maybelline – The Rocket Mascara

Still my absolute favourite although I have bought a different one to try this week. But I’m pretty sure this will be my staple mascara forever!

Pop Beauty – Sooty black eyeliner

No point in taking a photo as its nearly finished which shows how much I’ve loved this product. It was in my first glossy box. And I absolutely adore it.

Kate Moss Rimmel – Nude collection shade 40

Everything I could ever want from a nude lipstick!

The finished look

Superdrug Haul 💕💕💕

I went a little crazy in superdrug this week, I don’t know whether it was excitement or anger or a combination of both.

You see I went for the full new nude range of lipsticks by Kate Moss/ Rimmel. Only too find that they only had 2 shades left. 😑 I was not amused. So I had a mini spree.

What I got:

Zoella –

So these few bits are actually to put away for Xmas. They are on special offer at the minute in superdrug and I really wanted some of the bits, so I bought them and gave them to Sean to put away for me.

I don’t use moisturisers really, apart from soap and glory or Burts Bees, so I didn’t get those. But I did get the following:

Soak Opera – bath soak and shower cream

Let’s Spritz – Fragrance Body Spray  (new range)

Fizz Bar – Fragranced bath frizzers

Fresh Fizz – Fragranced bath Fizz (new range)

Scrubbing me softly – Smoothing body scrub (new range)

It all smells wonderful! And I can’t wait to try it. I’ve only just recently came across Zoella on you tube through a recommendation from a friend. And I’ve fallen in love with her. So it only made sense to go and buy some of her bits to try!

Garnier – Micellar Cleansing Water

St Ives – Apricot Scrub (blemish fighting)

MUA – Pro base conceal and brighten kit and Prime and conceal

Kate Moss Rimmel Nude range – shades 40 and 43

These were the only ones available in my local shops, so I nabbed them as they were the only 2 left. Obviously I love any type of nude lipstick. So I do want the whole collection. I’ve searched them down below. As you can see shade 40 (top) is super light.

Real Techniques – Sculpting brush

Most of these products I chose because I had seen people recommend them in reviews after their hauls. Some of the things I just wanted to try anyway!

Will be reviewing them once I work them into my daily routines, but from the items I’ve used for a couple of days, I’m already really pleased with.

Thanks again for reading! Let me know in the comments If you have tried any of these and if you Liked them or not!

Glossy box unboxing (July Edition)

Salut!

It’s finally here! I feel like I’ve been waiting FOREVER. But it was SO worth the wait.

The box is super duper pretty this month as its a French edition. And I think this is the first glossy box where I’m super excited to try everything in it!

The box ❤️

It’s so cute, I adore the illustrations on it. I’m not sure about anyone else but I use my boxes to store my excess makeup in. I was pretty devastated that I had to throw out my Marilyn box from the Hollywood edition, because it was covered in makeup. But this box far surpasses that one anyway! Yay!

What’s in it?

Noxidoxi – Enhancing serum base

Lollipops – Lip Balm Delicieuse

Teoxane Cosmeceuticals – Perfect skin Refiner

Yves Rocher – Comme use evidence eau de parfum

Glossybox exclusive Travel pouch

What I’m excited to try!

I love the whole thing if I’m honest. But I’m most excited about the perfume and the perfect skin refiner.

I also absolutely love the little travel bag. It’s gorgeous!!!

If you haven’t already subscribed to Glossybox, it’s most certainly worth £13.50 per month. You can browse their website and sign up here >> Glossy box

Thanks for reading my lovelies. I can’t wait to review these and tell you all about them in future blogs!!

Scentsy Wickless Warmer Review

Today I was sent my first ever product to review by a company. I was super excited to try it and rightly so because it’s fabulous!

The Scentsy Wickless Warmer:

I basically plugged this in as soon as I recieved it this morning, because I was so excited to try it out. Super simple to use!

With only a quarter of the wax melt burnt my lounge and kitchen already smells magnificent. I’m currently burning the coconut cotton and already the fragrance is quite powerful from such a little amount of wax melt. That leads me to think that you could get even more from your money by cutting each wax melt in half?

The catalog has such a wide range of burners starting from £28 upwards. They are absolutely beautiful and in my opinion well worth the money.

They would make wonderful gifts all year round, with a huge amount of wax melt scents too choose from at an affordable price too.

You know me, I’m a a bit obsessed with candles, incense, aromatherapy oils, room infusers etc. I always like my home smelling beautiful.

Every night when the kids go to bed, I light my normal tea light candle burner, adding either salts, oil or wax melts. I light my 7 candles that currently rest on my television unit. And I have a room infuser. All of these things combined give off a nice smell but nothing like the Scentsy warmer. In fact, no where close to it.

I know what you are going to ask next. Does it compare to the almighty Yankee candle? Well my lovelies, not only does it compare, it smashes it. Yes, Yankee are lovely, they smell beautiful. I’ve never really got on with their wax melts though. They don’t last very long and although they smell great, it’s not a long lasting fragrance and it certainly doesn’t fill the room.

The candles smell amazing when you give them a quick sniff, no doubt. But they are no different to the similar shaped candles you can pick up from Tesco for around £8. For the money you pay for Yankee, you would expect them to do something spectacular, when really they are just an expensive nice smelling candle that looks pretty. They don’t fill the entire room with the scent, but they are nice to have in small rooms like a bathroom, small lounge, kitchen area in my opinion. It doesn’t make me love Yankee any less, but this product does show them up!

I’ve just left the room to grab something and have come back into the lounge. It smells like Malibu in here. And that’s from about half of the wax melted. I can’t explain how good it smells as I fear I wouldn’t be doing it justice.

The scent has literally filled my entire flat now after burning for only 2 hours, I have never had that from any type of candle or oil burner.

Is it worth the money?

In my opinion, absolutely. I spend a silly amount of money on candles/oils/salts trying to get my house smelling pretty. But nothing I have ever bought has come near to this. The whole point in these is to save money. I’ve included a picture below to show you how it works out as an approximate. It’s certainly going on my list for Christmas.

If anyone’s interested in purchasing one of these for yourself or for a present. You can browse the catalogue and order here >>>

Katie’s Wickless Warmers

Thank you to Katie who is a Scentsy consultant for sending me this product to try out. I can’t wait to purchase my own and try lots of lovely wax melt scents.

Thanks so much for reading lovelies! Hope you enjoyed this blog. Let me know if you have tried these before or if it’s something you think you would like!

And now for the boring disclaimer:

This is a personal blog. The opinions expressed here represent my own and not those of the company that have sent me the product to review. I have not been paid, the item was sent to me on a trial basis so that I could review it.
