Lush Cosmetics Product Review: The ExperimenterΒ

The Experimenter Bath Bomb

This has a really strong smell, which I must admit when it first arrived I wasn’t particularly keen on.

However I was so excited that it had finally appeared on the Lush website as its previously been a Oxford street exclusive.

As soon as it hit the water, the smell seemed to immediately change. Into more of a floral and musk type smell. It actually reminded me of Ylang Ylang incense sticks!

As you can see in the video, the second you drop it into the water, it gives off the most beautiful rainbow of colour. It also makes a crackling type noise which is something I haven’t experienced before from their bath bomb range.

Once it has disolved, the water is a deep purple. If you use a bubble bar alongside prior to putting the bomb in, the colours will rest on the bubbles and last a bit longer.

The smell remains on your skin once you are out the bath and have dried off. It also leaves a very light shimmer on your skin as it has some gold glitter in it, but nothing like the Pheonix Rising bath bomb, where it looks like you have bathed in a tub of glitter 😏

Would I recommend it?

Most definitely, it’s the most colourful bath bomb I’ve tried from their collection so far, in fact nothing quite comes close to it.

Kids will love it too because of how bright it is!

Thanks for reading, let me know if you have tried this in the comments below and what you thought of it!

Mini lush Haul πŸ˜πŸ˜

Morning!

I was super excited that I checked Lush online at the weekend, as some of the products that were Oxford street exclusives had been made available for purchase πŸ˜€

Sadly I couldn’t afford to get all of them this week, with the run up to Xmas we are obviously getting all the presents in, but I did get the main ones I wanted to try! YAY

So here’s what I ordered:

The Comforter Shower Cream

The comforter bubble bar is my absolute favourite. Smells like sherbet πŸ’•πŸ’• can’t wait to try this.

Pink flamingo reusable bubble bar

Smells like a summery cocktail! I must admit I was attracted to this just because simply it was a flamingo 😏

Frozen Bath bomb

One for the kids! I always buy them something in my hauls and have been desperate to get this one.

Experimenter Bath bomb

Just because it’s so colourful!! Looks amazing.

Intergalactic Bath bomb

Smells divine and looks beautiful!

Will be doing a separate blog post to review about these in the coming weeks! So keep an eye out.

Also while I’m here, a special thanks to my good friend Rhi, who sent me this beautiful Gift set from Lush last week.

I hadn’t tried either of the products before but they smell absolutely amazing! The soap leaves a lasting smell on my skin for ages!

If you have tried any of them let me know what you thought in the comments below!

Thanks for reading.

July Favourites πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

I feel like this month has been SO long. More than likely because the summer holidays have started and we haven’t been able to get out much!

Kids have been attached to my hip almost constantly, hence the lack of blogging. I hadn’t anticipated that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with my one blog a day routine. So currently in just trying to get one up as often as I can!

So! This months favourites.

Primark Candles

After seeing a few of my favourite bloggers mention them on some of their posts, I grabbed a couple to try when I was there a few weeks ago.

I bought 3 in total. Two of the 3 wick ones and a single wick.

They smell amazing! And I love the presentation of the 3 wicks that are in tins.

The tins were Β£3.50 and the single candle was Β£2. Well worth the money in my opinion! Not only are they are bargain, but they look nice and smell great.

Scentsy Warmer

After being sent a warmer to trial for a blog post. I loved it so much that I bought my own! For those of you that haven’t read my scentsy blog, these are basically an electric wax burner. So no need for tea lights! You just plug them in. And pop a wax melt on top.

The smell is amazing! And there’s a huge range of scents and warmers to choose from. Check out my blog for details on where to purchase.

I chose the Bali, for obvious reasons and I adore it.

Mandala Wall Hanging

Purchased from India only last week and it’s arrived already! Urban outfitters are charging around Β£40 each for something similar. And as you will have seen from my recent post, we will soon be decorating our bedroom. So we have started to buy bits and pieces.

This was Β£13.99 on eBay, with free postage. I was expecting it to take ages with it being from India but arrived in just under a week. It’s absolutely enormous!

I have ordered a few others, and have some more in my watch list as I’m not sure how many I will need as I’m recovering my blanket box and the seat of my chair. All in different colours of course.

Excuse the picture, I obviously won’t be hanging them till we have decorated, so I’ve put it on my bed to show you.

EstΓ©e Lauder Double wear foundation
Not really sure why I put off purchasing this for so long, mainly the price tag because I usually spend no more than Β£10 on a foundation.

Everyone knows my love for drugstore makeup brands but I just had to try it and WOW what a difference.

Although I personally find it too heavy for basic day to day, it holds up to everything that it promises and I have used it an awful lot.

It lasts all day, to the point I find myself scrubbing it off my face at the end of the day. My face never feels dry, the coverage is amazing. It’s an all round winner.

However I think this shade is too dark for me, fine for when I have fake tan on but not without, so will be trying a different shade next time!

Barry M – Make me blush cream

Just recently I was talking to a friend about the memory I had of being a little girl and watching my mum use her lipstick on her cheeks as rouge. And this product totally reminded me of that, so that’s why I bought it!

They have a few different shades, but I like bright pink on my cheeks. Goes on lovely and I just blend it in with a brush!

Lush – Gay is ok soap

Smells fruity, spicy and gives a bit a of twinkle. I absolutely LOVE it. But that’s nothing new, there doesn’t seem to be much that I don’t love from Lush.

Garnier – Micellar Cleansing water

I have super sensitive skin, so I don’t really have a skin care routine because most products really irritate my face.

However, I purchased this and i absolutely love it. It’s so gentle on my skin, leaves me feeling fresh but also takes my makeup off like a dream!

I use it every morning when I wake up and then use it before bed to take my makeup up.

Glossy box favourite – Teoxane cosmeceuticals – Perfect skin Refiner

I’ve noticed an incredible difference in my skin with this product, so much so that I dug my glossy box information card out to see how much the full sized product is.

😐 It’s Β£70…. There has to be something similar out there for cheaper?! Does anyone know of a different brand? If not, I really think it’s something I might have to save up for because it’s honestly amazing.

I apply it after I’ve taken all my makeup off and cleansed my skin. It stings a little when I’m applying it but I’ve been told that’s supposed to happen.

My skin already feels more taught and smoother than it has been in a long time!

So that’s Julys favourites! What’s been your favourite products this month? Comment below or link me to your blog so I can read about them!

Thanks so much for reading.

My weekly purchases πŸ’•πŸ’•

Safe to say that I’m well and truly spent up this month! Have went a little crazy this week. So that’s me done now till next month.

I thought I would do a little post to show you what I got!

Primark and Lush

Recently watched a Zoella video where she had purchased some of the 3 wick candles in a tin from Primark and she said they smelt amazing! So I went to have a peek and got a couple.

Little bit gutted they didn’t do the Peony and white tea in a bigger size as that smells gorgeous but still happy with pineapple and ginger, and also the red berry and jasmine.

The large 3 wicks were Β£3.50 each and the square one was Β£2.

Also picked up this cute little t shirt. I say little, this is a size 6 because they all seemed enormous and I wanted one to tuck into my high waisted black jeans. I’m usually a 12 in a top! It was Β£3 in the sale.

And of course I couldn’t walk past Lush without popping in. But I was trying to contain myself as they have already had quite a lot of money from me this month!

I got the marshmallow bath melt and the Big Blue. Both smell divine!

Very

Couple of makeup purchases from very that arrived this week. I’m still waiting on the NYX colour correction kit but that doesn’t seem to have arrived yet!

Kate Moss Rimmel  lasting finish in shade 101

This is a super light pink, it smells gorgeous and it’s a really pretty colour.

Barry M – Make me blush

I wanted to try some cream blushes as I’ve asked for some cream blush palettes for Xmas from Makeup revolution. So to tide me over till then I bought this and so far it’s great! Really pretty bright pink but once blended leaves a lovely glow.

Maybelline Baby Skin – Instant fatigue blur

I’ve been using the green tube (pour eraser) which I’ve absolutely loved but just finished it recently. So I wanted to try this one out. It’s a total different texture so I’m finding it to be a bit strange. But I’m willing to persevere with it!

Maybelline Great Lash

Haven’t used this yet, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. So thought I would check it out myself because I’m a huge fan of Maybelline products.

Loreal Perfect match concealer

I’ve been using this as a highlighter for under my eyes and it’s absolutely perfect. Great coverage and really helps brighten my face. Super easy to apply too.

MAC – Disney limited edition Malificent sculpting powder

I have to admit I bought this just because I love Malificent πŸ˜‘ however it was a total steal at Β£5.50 as I won it on eBay! Yay! And furthermore I really love it. I’ve been using it as my contour powder and it’s great for my jaw line/cheekbones.

EstΓ©e Lauder – double wear – fresco

I’ve been putting this off for a while even though I really really wanted it. I’ve just never spent this much on a foundation before. As I’ve said in previous posts, I’m a huge lover of drugstore brands and I’ve really never spent more that Β£12 on a foundation.

But this was totally worth it. The coverage alone has convinced me that this purchase was the best idea I’ve had in a long time.

But it goes on lovely, doesn’t feel heavy or feel like I’m wearing 10 layers of makeup. I really have fallen in love with it.

So as you will see, I won’t be buying anything else for a while (I hope) as this lot and my superdrug haul was more than I’d wanted to spend this month!

But there are some great products here! Let me know if you have tried any of them and what you thought πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

Thanks for reading.

My Weekly Purchases πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

Here are a few things I purchased this week. These are all new products that I haven’t tried before! So will be reviewing them soon.

Makeup Revolution –

Ultra cover and concealer palette in light and also in medium to dark. They were Β£8.99 each which I thought was super cheap for all the shades you get.

Sleek Makeup – Eye and Cheek Palette in shade dancing til dusk

I already own the sleek highlight palette and the mini contour palette. And I love them both! The highlighting kit I would say is more for nights out perhaps as its quite shimmery, and I expect the same from this palette. This was Β£6 from eBay.

Real techniques – Expert Face brush

I’ve heard only good things about these brushes. So I had to buy some to try. I’ve been using this for a few days now and I’ve noticed a massive difference in how my makeup looks when applied with it.

Real techniques – Core Collection

These arrived in the post yesterday so I haven’t tried them yet, but as above, people have raved about the whole collection and I can see me loving these and wanting to own every brush they make!

Lush

See yesterday’s blog for information about these beauties that arrived yesterday. I’ve only used on of these previous. So I’m excited to try them all. I absolutely love Lush and as I’ve mentioned previous it’s starting to become a bit of an obsession!
So that’s this weeks buys! Let me know in the comments if you have used any of these and what you think of them.

Thanks for reading lovelies!

Monthly Favourites (June Edition)Β

June has been a great month for favourite products! I had too many so cut my list down and will perhaps include the rest in next months post.

So here we go..

Sleek Matte Me liquid lipstick in shade Birthday Suit πŸ’•

Good lord I love this lipstick. Everything about it from the shade (which is totally perfect), the consistency and how long it lasts! It literally lasts all day, I have to take it off in the evening and I’ve never had to do that with a liquid lipstick before. It reminds me a lot of the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks, but dare I say I love these more? And at around Β£7 they are a fraction of the price. They certainly stay on longer than ABH and the mixture isn’t as watery which I much prefer as I find myself having to blot the ABH dry if I’m in a hurry. LOVE LOVE LOVE this product.

Sleek highlighting palette in shade Precious MetalsπŸ’•πŸ’•

I’m really quite obsessed with Sleek at the moment. I find myself browsing Ebay almost constantly for different products. I stumbled across this when looking for contouring Palettes. I’ve been using it a few weeks now as part of my everyday makeup routine. It highlights my face really well, especially good for under eyes and tops of cheekbones. It’s 3 cream sections and one powder for Cupid’s bow, although I don’t tend to use that part. It has quite a glittering shimmer to it. Sean said I sparkle like the Vanpires in Twilight πŸ˜‚

Collection work the colour eyebrow kitπŸ’•πŸ’•

Ive spoken on a previous blog about how much I adore this product. I bought it in the airport for Β£2.99 as was in a rush. It’s one of the best eyebrow kits I’ve ever used. Comes with 3 colours black, medium brown and blonde. A double ended application brush and a clear mascara for setting. I really recommend this product. I love it so much that I might not ever change it 😱

NYX matte finish setting sprayπŸ’•πŸ’•

I will literally buy anything NYX related because I love the brand so much. More than likely my favourite makeup brand EVER. So when I seen this I had to buy it to try. And as always it’s perfect. Gives my face a matte look after makeup application, but also firmly sets my makeup in place for at least 12 hours! Which is more than enough for me to rate this product Excellent!

Lush bubblegum lip scrubπŸ’•πŸ’•

YES!! Smells and tastes delicious! (That’s right it’s totally edible) I apply this in the evening before bed and in the morning before my makeup. Takes the dead/dry skin straight off my lips leaving them silky soft and smooth and therefore my lippy goes on perfect! Also you only need to use the smallest amount so even though the tub is Β£5.95 it will last you absolutely ages.

Monuspa rosewood reviving mistπŸ’•πŸ’•

This was a product I got in last months Glossy box. I was rather disappointed in that box, but this was the one product I seem to have fallen in love with. I use it first thing in the morning before applying my makeup to freshen my face up and it smells wonderful! It also says on the bottle that you can use it to set makeup also but I’m yet to try spraying it after makeup application because obviously Ive been using the NYX product.

Argan OilπŸ’•πŸ’•

I bought this from Home Bargains for less than Β£2 and it really has helped with my hair. My hair is pretty dry now from all the bleaching not to mention the split ends. And this is slowly but surely starting to make a difference to the overall condition/feel of my hair. I apply this to towel dried hair but in very small amounts otherwise it will make your hair greasy. If I know I’m not going out the next day, I literally smother my hair in it and just let it sit.

So that’s this months favourites! Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of them. Let me know down below.

Thanks so much for reading. πŸ’•πŸ’•

My Monthly Lush haul πŸ’•πŸ’•

I know I’m not alone in the Lush obsession. And it’s hard not to be obsessed really when the shop smells like some kind of fragrance dream land and looks almost edible.

Every month or so I pop into town and go a little bit mad in their store, and that’s not including the online purchases I make in emergencies.

Not only do the products smell good, the smell lasts on your skin/hair all day and I’m happy to say that I’ve never found this from products like bath bombs/soaps before from elsewhere.

My absolute must haves are the Strawberry D’Fluff, I have super sensitive skin, I get terrible shaving rash usually, but since using this I never get it anymore and it leaves my legs feeling silky smooth and smelling of strawberries.

Breath of fresh air Toner water. I use this twice daily. When I wake up and before I go to sleep. It helps keep my skin clear and fresh.

The Comforter bubble bar. I can’t describe how amazing it smells. Its so strong that it smells like it would taste like tangy sherbet if you ate it. It lasts on my skin for hours after a bath.

Wiccy Magic muscles massage bar. It leaves an oily coating on your skin when you wash with it. The smell is absolutely amazing and really long lasting. It also makes my whole bathroom smell like a Lush store πŸ’•πŸ’•

I went into town for my monthly supply of Lush goodies. Here’s my haul:

I even bought a new wooden crate storage box from Primark (Β£7) to keep all my Lush things in.

Hope you enjoyed the blog! Let me know if you shop at lush and which are your favourite products or what would you recommend I try!

Thanks for reading xx
