I cut my hair off for charity!

Thought I would give you all a quick update on my hair!

Basically if you have been following me for a while you will know that I dyed my hair black to blonde. Then purple and eventually grey.

I tried everything to keep my hair grey but even the hairdressers couldn’t get it to last longer than a week.

My hair was left in really bad condition, and along with my hair falling out due to stress my dermatitis on my scalp was pretty bad.

So I decided to dye it back to black. Although this slightly helped with the condition. I felt my hair still looked and felt dreadful.

As most of you know my little boy is autistic. So I decided to cut my hair off and raise money for the National Autistic Society. They have been such a great source of information since the diagnoses process started and I wanted to be able to give something back.

So I went from this :

To this :

The hairdresser did get a bit scissor happy. And it was slightly shorter than I wanted which makes it difficult to style the original way I wanted too. However I really love it, I actually prefer wearing it in the pixie style.

Now when my hair grows back eventually it will be in great condition!

I managed to raise over £450 thanks to my very generous and wonderful friends.

So just another shoutout to those of you who did donate. Thankyou so much for making this transition so much easier by donating what you could. It is massively appreciated and I love you all.

Real techniques brushes review 💕💕

Not so long ago, I only ever used a very basic sponge to apply my foundation, and a cheap brush to apply powder/blush/bronzer.

It wasn’t until I entered the world of contouring that I started to purchase different types of brushes for each individual step. The difference I have found is massive!

I first purchased the Real Techniques Core kit. Alongside a few different contour pallets. I’ve found they have worked best with the Makeup Revolution Cover and conceal cream contour pallets.

The brushes are lovely though, soft and never loose bristles. Easy to clean and easy to apply makeup. I have my own ways of doing things so I know that I’m not using the brushes for the right things but they work well for me!

Also the Real techniques Expert Face brush is by far the best brush I have ever used. I use it too apply my foundation (currently using Estée Lauder double wear). It goes on perfectly and blends beautifully.

The only brush from Real Techniques that I haven’t liked is the sculpting brush. For me I personally think it’s too hard to sculpt. It’s also quite chunky so doesn’t work well with some of my smaller powder contour kits (current favourite is Seventeen or collection). So I’m disappointed I bought that. Because it doesn’t get used at all.

Overall I absolutely love them. I still have a few more that I want from the original range. And I have a few of the bold metals brushes and also the fibre collection on my Christmas list!  The bold metals are more expensive, but they look amazing and I’ve heard great things about them!

So if you are looking for inexpensive starter brushes to build your collection these are the ones I would suggest!

Hope everyone is well, sorry I haven’t been around for a while. Summer holidays were manic and it’s just finding the time to get back into the swing of things!

Thanks for reading. Leave a comment down below if you use any of the Real Techniques range and what you think of them!

Lush Cosmetics Product Review: The Experimenter

The Experimenter Bath Bomb

This has a really strong smell, which I must admit when it first arrived I wasn’t particularly keen on.

However I was so excited that it had finally appeared on the Lush website as its previously been a Oxford street exclusive.

As soon as it hit the water, the smell seemed to immediately change. Into more of a floral and musk type smell. It actually reminded me of Ylang Ylang incense sticks!

As you can see in the video, the second you drop it into the water, it gives off the most beautiful rainbow of colour. It also makes a crackling type noise which is something I haven’t experienced before from their bath bomb range.

Once it has disolved, the water is a deep purple. If you use a bubble bar alongside prior to putting the bomb in, the colours will rest on the bubbles and last a bit longer.

The smell remains on your skin once you are out the bath and have dried off. It also leaves a very light shimmer on your skin as it has some gold glitter in it, but nothing like the Pheonix Rising bath bomb, where it looks like you have bathed in a tub of glitter 😏

Would I recommend it?

Most definitely, it’s the most colourful bath bomb I’ve tried from their collection so far, in fact nothing quite comes close to it.

Kids will love it too because of how bright it is!

Thanks for reading, let me know if you have tried this in the comments below and what you thought of it!

Glossy Box : August 2015

It’s that time of the month again! Glossy box reveal! YAY

I’m actually super impressed with this months box.

There are 4 full size products and one sample size, instead of the normal 1 full size product.

What’s inside!

I think I’m most excited about the Toner and the Blush. But all the products look amazing.

So it was just a very short post today, but wanted to share it with you all because I think they have out done themselves this month.

I did absolutely love last months, and have been using some of those products since. Keep an eye out for reviews of some of the Glossy products over the next week!

Thanks for reading.

Mini lush Haul 😍😍

Morning!

I was super excited that I checked Lush online at the weekend, as some of the products that were Oxford street exclusives had been made available for purchase 😀

Sadly I couldn’t afford to get all of them this week, with the run up to Xmas we are obviously getting all the presents in, but I did get the main ones I wanted to try! YAY

So here’s what I ordered:

The Comforter Shower Cream

The comforter bubble bar is my absolute favourite. Smells like sherbet 💕💕 can’t wait to try this.

Pink flamingo reusable bubble bar

Smells like a summery cocktail! I must admit I was attracted to this just because simply it was a flamingo 😏

Frozen Bath bomb

One for the kids! I always buy them something in my hauls and have been desperate to get this one.

Experimenter Bath bomb

Just because it’s so colourful!! Looks amazing.

Intergalactic Bath bomb

Smells divine and looks beautiful!

Will be doing a separate blog post to review about these in the coming weeks! So keep an eye out.

Also while I’m here, a special thanks to my good friend Rhi, who sent me this beautiful Gift set from Lush last week.

I hadn’t tried either of the products before but they smell absolutely amazing! The soap leaves a lasting smell on my skin for ages!

If you have tried any of them let me know what you thought in the comments below!

Mini Boots Haul 💕💕💕

Still on the hunt for the Kate Moss Nude collection lipsticks! But on the way picked up a few bits from boots today.

I did manage to actually get another 2 of the shades that I needed. I got shades 45 and 48. Also picked up one from her other range in shade 03.

Will swatch these within the next few days! I think I only have one shade left to find now!

I’ve been wanting to try a BB balm or cream for a while now, and whilst I was looking at the seventeen collection for yet another different contour kit to try I came across this balm.

My skin is terrible at the minute, so the fact that it said it will improve my skin within 4 weeks made me want to try it!

My friend uses the contour kit, and looks fabulous so I wanted to give that a go myself and see what it’s like.

I haven’t wore powder for a very long time. I’ve been using Soap and Glorys Solar powder as an all over face powder for a while as its light enough to give the effect I wanted.

However I’m one for trying new things all the time. So I grabbed this one as I’ve seen a fair few blogs recommending it.

Yay!! I’m so excited that I eventually found this product. I loved their Morrocon oil shampoo and conditioner and their coconut milk. But I seen Zoella blog about this a while ago and I’ve only just managed to pick it up in boots today!

These are going in my toiletries section of my Xmas list though. So you will have to wait a while for my review 😂😂

You will see in the top picture that I grabbed some insence, that was from a little stall as I ran out of nag champa at the weekend, and this was all they had. But they smell beautiful. And for £1 per pack you can’t really go wrong!

So, still on the hunt for the last shade of the nude collection. Looks like it might have to be an online purchase. But I’m super happy that I managed to get the rest today.

Thanks so much for reading. If you have tried any of these products, let me know what you think of them in the comments!

July Favourites 💕💕💕

I feel like this month has been SO long. More than likely because the summer holidays have started and we haven’t been able to get out much!

Kids have been attached to my hip almost constantly, hence the lack of blogging. I hadn’t anticipated that I wouldn’t be able to keep up with my one blog a day routine. So currently in just trying to get one up as often as I can!

So! This months favourites.

Primark Candles

After seeing a few of my favourite bloggers mention them on some of their posts, I grabbed a couple to try when I was there a few weeks ago.

I bought 3 in total. Two of the 3 wick ones and a single wick.

They smell amazing! And I love the presentation of the 3 wicks that are in tins.

The tins were £3.50 and the single candle was £2. Well worth the money in my opinion! Not only are they are bargain, but they look nice and smell great.

Scentsy Warmer

After being sent a warmer to trial for a blog post. I loved it so much that I bought my own! For those of you that haven’t read my scentsy blog, these are basically an electric wax burner. So no need for tea lights! You just plug them in. And pop a wax melt on top.

The smell is amazing! And there’s a huge range of scents and warmers to choose from. Check out my blog for details on where to purchase.

I chose the Bali, for obvious reasons and I adore it.

Mandala Wall Hanging

Purchased from India only last week and it’s arrived already! Urban outfitters are charging around £40 each for something similar. And as you will have seen from my recent post, we will soon be decorating our bedroom. So we have started to buy bits and pieces.

This was £13.99 on eBay, with free postage. I was expecting it to take ages with it being from India but arrived in just under a week. It’s absolutely enormous!

I have ordered a few others, and have some more in my watch list as I’m not sure how many I will need as I’m recovering my blanket box and the seat of my chair. All in different colours of course.

Excuse the picture, I obviously won’t be hanging them till we have decorated, so I’ve put it on my bed to show you.

Estée Lauder Double wear foundation
Not really sure why I put off purchasing this for so long, mainly the price tag because I usually spend no more than £10 on a foundation.

Everyone knows my love for drugstore makeup brands but I just had to try it and WOW what a difference.

Although I personally find it too heavy for basic day to day, it holds up to everything that it promises and I have used it an awful lot.

It lasts all day, to the point I find myself scrubbing it off my face at the end of the day. My face never feels dry, the coverage is amazing. It’s an all round winner.

However I think this shade is too dark for me, fine for when I have fake tan on but not without, so will be trying a different shade next time!

Barry M – Make me blush cream

Just recently I was talking to a friend about the memory I had of being a little girl and watching my mum use her lipstick on her cheeks as rouge. And this product totally reminded me of that, so that’s why I bought it!

They have a few different shades, but I like bright pink on my cheeks. Goes on lovely and I just blend it in with a brush!

Lush – Gay is ok soap

Smells fruity, spicy and gives a bit a of twinkle. I absolutely LOVE it. But that’s nothing new, there doesn’t seem to be much that I don’t love from Lush.

Garnier – Micellar Cleansing water

I have super sensitive skin, so I don’t really have a skin care routine because most products really irritate my face.

However, I purchased this and i absolutely love it. It’s so gentle on my skin, leaves me feeling fresh but also takes my makeup off like a dream!

I use it every morning when I wake up and then use it before bed to take my makeup up.

Glossy box favourite – Teoxane cosmeceuticals – Perfect skin Refiner

I’ve noticed an incredible difference in my skin with this product, so much so that I dug my glossy box information card out to see how much the full sized product is.

😐 It’s £70…. There has to be something similar out there for cheaper?! Does anyone know of a different brand? If not, I really think it’s something I might have to save up for because it’s honestly amazing.

I apply it after I’ve taken all my makeup off and cleansed my skin. It stings a little when I’m applying it but I’ve been told that’s supposed to happen.

My skin already feels more taught and smoother than it has been in a long time!

So that’s Julys favourites! What’s been your favourite products this month? Comment below or link me to your blog so I can read about them!

Thanks so much for reading.

Kate Moss Long lasting Lipstick swatches (Rimmel)

I have still only managed to grab 2 of the 5 from the new Kate Moss Nude range, but I absolutely LOVE them and I can’t wait to get the other shades.

They smell divine, they are long lasting, moisturising and make your lips look lovely and plump.

I also managed to grab one from the other range. Which I love equally as much, even though I don’t wear much pink, I’ve found that I’ve been wearing this one quite a lot!

Shade 40 (Nude)

Shade 43 (Nude)

Shade 101 (Light pink)

Top : Shade 40

Middle : Shade 43

Bottom : Shade 101

As I’ve said above, I’m super happy with these. They are by far my favourite lipsticks at the moment, hopefully will be able to get a few more over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks so much for reading!
