My weekly purchases 💕💕

Safe to say that I’m well and truly spent up this month! Have went a little crazy this week. So that’s me done now till next month.

I thought I would do a little post to show you what I got!

Primark and Lush

Recently watched a Zoella video where she had purchased some of the 3 wick candles in a tin from Primark and she said they smelt amazing! So I went to have a peek and got a couple.

Little bit gutted they didn’t do the Peony and white tea in a bigger size as that smells gorgeous but still happy with pineapple and ginger, and also the red berry and jasmine.

The large 3 wicks were £3.50 each and the square one was £2.

Also picked up this cute little t shirt. I say little, this is a size 6 because they all seemed enormous and I wanted one to tuck into my high waisted black jeans. I’m usually a 12 in a top! It was £3 in the sale.

And of course I couldn’t walk past Lush without popping in. But I was trying to contain myself as they have already had quite a lot of money from me this month!

I got the marshmallow bath melt and the Big Blue. Both smell divine!

Very

Couple of makeup purchases from very that arrived this week. I’m still waiting on the NYX colour correction kit but that doesn’t seem to have arrived yet!

Kate Moss Rimmel  lasting finish in shade 101

This is a super light pink, it smells gorgeous and it’s a really pretty colour.

Barry M – Make me blush

I wanted to try some cream blushes as I’ve asked for some cream blush palettes for Xmas from Makeup revolution. So to tide me over till then I bought this and so far it’s great! Really pretty bright pink but once blended leaves a lovely glow.

Maybelline Baby Skin – Instant fatigue blur

I’ve been using the green tube (pour eraser) which I’ve absolutely loved but just finished it recently. So I wanted to try this one out. It’s a total different texture so I’m finding it to be a bit strange. But I’m willing to persevere with it!

Maybelline Great Lash

Haven’t used this yet, but I’ve heard mixed reviews. So thought I would check it out myself because I’m a huge fan of Maybelline products.

Loreal Perfect match concealer

I’ve been using this as a highlighter for under my eyes and it’s absolutely perfect. Great coverage and really helps brighten my face. Super easy to apply too.

MAC – Disney limited edition Malificent sculpting powder

I have to admit I bought this just because I love Malificent 😑 however it was a total steal at £5.50 as I won it on eBay! Yay! And furthermore I really love it. I’ve been using it as my contour powder and it’s great for my jaw line/cheekbones.

Estée Lauder – double wear – fresco

I’ve been putting this off for a while even though I really really wanted it. I’ve just never spent this much on a foundation before. As I’ve said in previous posts, I’m a huge lover of drugstore brands and I’ve really never spent more that £12 on a foundation.

But this was totally worth it. The coverage alone has convinced me that this purchase was the best idea I’ve had in a long time.

But it goes on lovely, doesn’t feel heavy or feel like I’m wearing 10 layers of makeup. I really have fallen in love with it.

So as you will see, I won’t be buying anything else for a while (I hope) as this lot and my superdrug haul was more than I’d wanted to spend this month!

But there are some great products here! Let me know if you have tried any of them and what you thought 💕💕💕

Thanks for reading.

Selfie Saturday : My makeup

Morning lovelies!

I thought I would give you a quick run through of what makeup I’m wearing today. After purchasing a few bits this week, I’ve been gradually adding them and changing things amongst my normal routine.

I also dyed my hair this week! I’m a little bit sad, it didn’t take long to get blonde but it has damaged my hair quite badly. I only wanted to go blonde so that I could go a gun mental grey. Who knew going grey was such hard work? Even the hairdressers tried but the toner was washing out within a week. Too much money and still didn’t get the outcome that I wanted. So I’ve gone a nice brown instead! This is what I used :

So, my makeup today consists of the following:

Maybelline Baby skin – Instant fatigue Blur

I’m not sure if I like this yet, I’ve been using the green tube (instant pour eraser) for a few months now and it’s a totally different texture. However my makeup does go on well over it, so I’m going to persevere. I apply this to my full face as a primer.

Estée Lauder – Double wear – Fresco

I bit the bullet and purchased it this week. So many people have said such great things about the coverage that I just couldn’t contain myself any longer. I’m a big advocate in drugstore makeup. I’ve been using Maybelline better skin for a while now and I love that. But the coverage I’ve got from double wear is really quite amazing. The price makes my eyes water though. But from what I’ve used so far, I’m happy to pay it!

Maxfactor – Pan stik – Noveau Beige

I use this as a concealer not foundation. So I apply it anywhere I need it. Usually under my eyes and then blemishes.

Makeup Revolution contour pallets – light, medium/dark

I absolutely love these. They are only £6 per pallet in superdrug. I use the 2 lightest shades for highlighting (see previous review post to see how I highlight and contour my face) and then the 3 darkest shades for contour.

Soap and Glory – Solar Powder

I’m touching pan with this now so need to replace it. I don’t use it as a bronzer really, more like my all over face powder before I apply any contour powder!

MAC – Limited edition Disney’s Malificent – Sculpting Powder

Can’t even explain how excited I am to own this product. They are selling for quite a lot on Ebay with them being no longer available. However, I won this in a bidding for £5.50 😱 that was the starting bid so no one else must have searched for it!

It came in the post yesterday, I’ve been using it to sculpt my cheekbones and basically anywhere where I contour. LOVE it.

Barry M – Make me blush cream

Also bought this week (keep an eye out for my weekly purchases blog later)

I’ve asked Sean for the Makeup revolution cream blush pallets for Xmas. So in the meantime wanted to try a few others. I love this one, goes on super easy and it’s a really pretty pink colour. Blends easy with my brushes too.

Collection work the colour – eyebrow kit

I use the black mostly, but this is still by far the best eyebrow kit I’ve used. And it’s a steal at 2.99!

Maybelline – The Rocket Mascara

Still my absolute favourite although I have bought a different one to try this week. But I’m pretty sure this will be my staple mascara forever!

Pop Beauty – Sooty black eyeliner

No point in taking a photo as its nearly finished which shows how much I’ve loved this product. It was in my first glossy box. And I absolutely adore it.

Kate Moss Rimmel – Nude collection shade 40

Everything I could ever want from a nude lipstick!

The finished look

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you wear any of these products and what you think!

Glossy box unboxing (July Edition)

Salut!

It’s finally here! I feel like I’ve been waiting FOREVER. But it was SO worth the wait.

The box is super duper pretty this month as its a French edition. And I think this is the first glossy box where I’m super excited to try everything in it!

The box ❤️

It’s so cute, I adore the illustrations on it. I’m not sure about anyone else but I use my boxes to store my excess makeup in. I was pretty devastated that I had to throw out my Marilyn box from the Hollywood edition, because it was covered in makeup. But this box far surpasses that one anyway! Yay!

What’s in it?

Noxidoxi – Enhancing serum base

Lollipops – Lip Balm Delicieuse

Teoxane Cosmeceuticals – Perfect skin Refiner

Yves Rocher – Comme use evidence eau de parfum

Glossybox exclusive Travel pouch

What I’m excited to try!

I love the whole thing if I’m honest. But I’m most excited about the perfume and the perfect skin refiner.

I also absolutely love the little travel bag. It’s gorgeous!!!

If you haven’t already subscribed to Glossybox, it’s most certainly worth £13.50 per month. You can browse their website and sign up here >> Glossy box

Thanks for reading my lovelies. I can’t wait to review these and tell you all about them in future blogs!!

Viva la France!

Featured Product Friday : Illamasqua Lipstick (Glamore)

Having heard some great things about Illamsaqua recently, I decided I would bite the bullet and purchase one of their lipsticks.
They are around the same price as Mac, and have a varied amount of shades. I paid £20 for mine from Verythis particular one is in the shade Starkers.

Do I love it?

Well, I love the shade, it’s very hydrating and it smells lovely. In fairness I love pretty much any type of nude lipstick, I do prefer Matte though and this is satin.

The website states that it’s long lasting. I suppose that’s half true. If I compare it to the likes of Mac, I would say that yes it lasts a couple of hours if you are not eating or drinking. However I have worn this on some nights out and I did find myself reapplying quite often.

Would I buy it again?

I really do love the shade, and it makes my lips look lovely and plump! My only problem is how long it lasts for.

For around £20 I could buy 3/4 Revlon lipsticks or 3 Sleek liquid matte me lipsticks which I know last ages and I know I would be happy all round.

So no, I don’t think I will be buying them again. Totally prepared to try out other bits from their range though, I’m not totally writing them off. Just this particular make of lippy!

Thanks for reading! Let me know if you have tried this brand before and if you have any favourite products by them.

Contouring with Makeup Revolution Palettes

Morning!

Today I wanted to try out my new contour palettes from Makeup Revolution that I purchased last week.

I had a bit of a try with some of the shades last week and was super happy with the outcome. So I wanted to start to put them into my daily routine.

They are cream contour kits, I’ve only ever used powder before, alongside light concealers and darker foundations. So I don’t have a particular technique.

I am a super messy contourer, due to always being in a rush with the kids. But it looks totally fine once blended out so apologies if anyone thinks I look ridiculous 😂😂

What I did:

I applied my normal base of Maybelline Baby Skin.

Then I took a flat brush for highlighting. Using the first and lightest shade from the light contour palette.

I applied it under my eyes, tops of cheek bones, chin, edges of my mouth, Cupid’s bow, bridge of my nose, forehead and a small amount of my lower jaw line. These are all the areas I like to highlight on my face.

Then I took my contour brush and applied the shades that are last on the top line and second last on the bottom line from the dark palette and applied them under my cheekbones, and across the top of my forehead (I usually blend upwards when doing so).

Then I applied the darkest shade from the dark palette on the edges and end of my nose, Cupid’s bow and under my bottom lip in the crease of my chin.

I then blended the rough edges using a stippling brush. To make it less harsh.

Then onto my normal routine, I applied a small amount of Maybelline Better Skin foundation and Maxfaxtor luminizer foundation (mixed together). Then took my expert face brush and applied the smallest amount and gently blended it all in.

I then took my normal Sleek mini contour powder kit. Used a small amount on my contour areas just to make them pop a bit more.

For blush I used a small amount of Soap and glory : love at first blush.

Eyes I used Pop beauty’s sooty black eye liner and Maybelline’s, The Rocket mascara. (Remember I don’t wear eye shadow)

Brows I used my Collection Work the colour eyebrow kit, using the shade black.

And finally for my lips I used WetnWild Beauty Benefits Duel Effects lip liner alongside Mac’s Satin Faux lipstick.

I really love these Palettes. They were just under £10 each, which I think is a bargain! The packaging and presentation is lovely and they look expensive.

I obviously cannot compare them to any other cream contour kits because I haven’t tried any as of yet!

I’m super excited to try their cream blush range as well as many other products they have to offer.

Thanks so much for reading! Let me know if you have tried these yet 💕💕💕💕

4 DIY Facemasks 💕💕💕

My skin just has a mind of its own. Some days it’s dry others it’s oily. It’s super sensitive so I’m prone to blemishes and can sometimes have reactions to different types of makeup.

Like with others things I’ve posted, I’ve been told about different DIY treatments to try and help several skin types. I’ve tried them all previously and have found them gentle on my skin.

So here’s a list of a few that I love!

Oily skin

Egg white mask

Egg whites help tighten your pores, as they contain protein that will help replenish your skin.  They also help to remove any excess oil, making your skin blemish free.

Blend egg white and lemon together for a couple of seconds, apply the paste to dry skin and leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off with Luke warm water.

Pimple and excessive oily skin

Aspirin Mask

This is one I used many years ago, unfortunately you can’t use this if you are allergic to aspirin or can’t take aspirin for some other reason. I have a platelet disorder now, so can no longer use it.

This mask is great for soothing your skin, the acid present in the pill is a great anti acne product.

Crush the pill and add a little water to make a paste, not too much as if it’s too watery you won’t be able to apply it properly. You can thicken it by adding a little bit of honey.

Apply to full face and leave on for 10 minutes. Wash off with Luke warm water.

Dull skin

Banana mask

Take 2 bananas, mash them until they form a paste. Add 2 tbsp of honey or extra nourishment.

Apply the mask on a dry face and leave for 10 minutes. Wash off with Luke warm water.

Dry skin

Avocado mask

Mash half an avacado until you have a thick consistency. Mix 1 tbsp of honey and 1tbsp of rose water and add it to the avacado mixture. Mix into a paste, then apply it to your dry face. Leave on for 15 minutes. Wash off with Luke warm water.

If your skin is extra dry, you can use olive oil in replace of rose water.

Thanks for reading lovelies. Hope you are finding these types of posts interesting!

Let me know if you have tried any of these before and if they worked for you.

Winner for Sleek Giveaway!!💕💕💕

Firstly I just want to apologise as for some reason my comments/reblog option wasn’t working on some of my posts last week, including the giveaway post.

So instead I wrote down all the names of people who liked the post itself! I stuck them all in a hat and Penelope picked one out. (You have no idea how hard it was to get her to pick just one bit of paper).

I also want to thank everyone that has followed/commented/liked/reblogged and shared my posts. I’m now at 270 ish followers I think, which is such a huge achievement for being on here for 2 weeks and you have no idea how much it means to me that people actually enjoy reading what I write!

So, the winner is….. Laineyloeslife 😍😍😍

Well done my lovely!! If you haven’t already, check her blog out. It’s beautiful!

Please pick a shade of one of the following liquid lipsticks from the Sleek Matte Me collection:

And also which shade of blush you would like:

Obviously I have to order these in so bare with me. But if you comment below with your email address or Instagram so I can PM you for your address, that would be great.

Thanks for reading!

Beauty Product Review: Glam Glow

I am absolutely HORRIFIED to find that I’m nearly finished both tubs of my Glam Glow.

I’ve been using them both every few days or when I have a particularly bad break out of face demons, and I hadn’t realised till last night how little I have left.

What is good though, is that I feel now that I have used them for quite a while I can give a proper review.

Super mud clearing treatment (white tub)

This is my favourite out of the 2. I’ve never found a product that reduces redness so quickly, not only that it dries my spots out and seems to smooth any bumpiness on my face.

I generally apply it whilst I’m in the bath, so that the heat has opened my pours. And then wash it off when I get out. It smells lovely too, a bit like mint and tea tree!

Apply it like you would any face mask, can be a bit messy and be sure to keep it away from your eyes. Make sure your face is entirely covered, you don’t need to use a huge amount of this product for coverage.

Youth mud – Tingle exfoliate treatment

I do love this product, but it’s more for exfoliating and it gives you a natural, youthful glow.

I have used this on different days to the Super mud, so I can happily say that I do think this also helps with redness but not so much spots.

It does leave my face soft and fresh though which is great. I sometimes do a mask in the morning using this one as I find that if I’m having a particularly bad skin day, this helps prep my skin for makeup.

I will most defiantly be buying these 2 again. They are pricey but sometimes you can get the double pack, like I did, on offer around Xmas time from Marks and Spencer’s and I’m sure other places.

I paid £40 for the 2. The Supermud is the largest tub, but you can get them vice versa.

Thanks for reading lovelies! Let me know if you have tried Glam Glow before and what your opinion is on it.
